Casa San Gabriel

 

Casa San Gabriel is a collection of 4 Umbrian stone farm cottages. It is located in a stunning valley, surrounded by ancient olive groves, vineyards, woodlands and a scattering of beautiful Umbrian properties.

The position has been described as "Heaven on Earth" where you can look at the view for hours at a time. In the distance you are able to see the Basilica of San Francesco at Assisi and the mountain ranges of Le Marche.

The cottages have been lovingly restored using all traditional methods and materials by the current owners, David and Chrissie, who live in the main farmhouse. There are 3 separate cottage all designed to ensure each has its private area and terrace and located to enjoy the magnificent views.

There are 21/2 acres of private gardens including an olive grove, vegetable garden, herb garden and wonderful childrens playground.

The 14.5m * 4,5m swimming pool is situated on a terrace, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a large pergola, at the top of the property to enjoy the wonderful views. The area has been fenced in such a way that it is secure from children entering but does not affect the view. 

There is a traditional, outdoor, woodburning bread oven and once a week the owners hold a pizza night, where they encourage their guests to make their own pizzas.

Accommodation Options

There are three self contained cottage of various sizes. Each cottage has been fully restored with its own private terrace and covered pergolas. Each contains a fully equipped kitchen with all cooking facilities, 3 gas and 1 electric hobs, bathrooms with deluge high pressure showers. The facilities include a welcome pack on arrival including wine, beer and breakfast, a tv and stereo system, hairdryers, all bed, bath and kitchen linen and outside furniture including tables, chairs, umbrellas and deckchairs. 

 

Il Fienile (sleeps 4/6)

This is the largest cottage at Casa San Gabriel and split over 2 levels it is perfect for families.

The lower level consists of a twin bunk bed room, with bathroom wtih shower, living / dining area with double sofa bed (orthapaedic mattress) and fully equipped kitchenette. Above is a mezzanine level double bedroom with a double or 2 single beds and curtained for privacy. 

There is a wonderful terrace and private garden to enjoy, with a big oak tree to give welcome shade in the summer. 

 

La Cantina (sleeps 2/4)

The old wine cellar is suitable for 1 or 2 couples and families. The lower level consists of a kitchenette and sitting / dining area with a double sofa bed, which leads onto a stunning private terrace.

Glass enclosed, original external stairs takes you to the top level, with a landing that leads onto a double bedroom (with either twin beds or a double) and a separate bathroom with shower. 

 

La Stalla (sleeps 2)

La Stalla is a studio cottage, once the old stable and perfect for a couple or 2 friends sharing.

There is a large terrace surrounding the cottage which contains a kitchenette, a bedroom area with either a double or 2 single beds and a separate dining area with 2 armchairs. This leads onto a lovely bathroom area with shower.
