Whilst in the centre of the "centro storico", it is in a quiet location within yards of the main piazza with bars, restaurants, shops and a bank. It is an ideal location for those who do not wish to drive everywhere as you can explore on foot and walk to the nearest train and bus stations.
Umbertide
Even before 8th century Umbertide used to be an important trade centre on the Tiber where the Umbrians and Etruscans bartered their wares. Now it has grown to be a commercial centre but it retains its sense of history and of course its "centro storico" with piazze and tiny streets are carefully preserved.
There is an excellent choice of restaurants both formal and informal in the town and surrounding countryside, local shops and supermarkets and a thriving Wednesday market.
There are many wonderful walking tracks along the Tiber with fishing and canoeing opportunities.
