San Gregorio, Umbria (sleeps 6)
San Gregorio is beautiful Umbrian country house, surrounded by a lovely garden and wonderful views of the countryside.
The house is located north of Perugia, close to the main road of the E45 and is reached via a few kilometres of tarmac road, that winds up through an old village and a line of umbrella pines. It is perfectly positioned so that no roads can be seen or heard, just the noises and sounds of the countryside, but close enough to enable easy access to the main highlights of this area.
The house is set in its own 2 acres of land that includes an olive grove, vineyard, a well kept vegetable garden (that guests are welcome to use) and wonderful garden around the house.
The highlight is the perfectly positioned swimming pool, with comfortable sunbeds and a shady pergola to enjoy outdoor meals, with its own fridge.
San Gregorio has 2 floors, the main part of the house is located on the first floor and the ground floor contains a fully self contained apartment.
There are a number of wonderful outdoor eating areas, including a shaded terrace close to the house and pergola close to the swimming pool.
The first floor is reached via an original external staircase that leads you to a beautiful covered loggia, with tables and chairs. You enter into the stunning main kitchen / dining room, which was the original kitchen of the house and retains the old fireplace and a large dining table, comfortably seating 6. The kitchen is very well equipped and includes a dishwasher.
A corridor leads to the light and spacious sitting room, with comfortable sofas and wonderful views from its large windows. This room contains a television, stereo and selection of music, books and dvds.
There are two bedrooms on this floor, both spacious and beautifully furnished. The master bedroom has a large double bed with an en-suite bathroom with bath. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
The ground floor of the house can be a separate self contained apartment for family members who need a little space and also forms part of the whole house. There is a huge sitting room that contains comfortable sofas and a full size billiard table. There is a delightful kitchen on this level and a large double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with bath.
There is an additional laundry room with a washing machine and clothes dryer.
